Change a fishing method

About the Service

This service allows fishers to change their fishing methods/gears in accordance with the relevant legislations. A boat license and a captain card will be issued with the same validity of the previous boat license and captain card

Service Process

  1. Fill-out the electronic form

  2. Review the application and complete the procedures electronically

  3. Issue the boat license and captain card

Conditions & Requirements

  1. Fishers are not permitted to combine Gargoors and Nets if they own more than one fishing boat
  2. Fishers are allowed to change their authorized fishing method set out in the fishing boat's license from Gargoors to Nets for Tarad boats only. The use of Nets is allowed during the seasons specified by the relevant Ministerial decrees.
  3. Fishers who use Al-Halaq method for nets are allowed to change the fishing method to Gargoors after the end of Al -Halaq season as specified by the relevant Ministerial decree.
  4. Any stricter requirements issued by the local authority on the classifications shall be taken into consideration.
  5. Fishing boat license must be valid.
  6. The previous fishing boat license, and the captain card, (the vice-captain card if applicable) should be submitted
