Approval animal feed and food for import

About the Service

It is the process of approving animal feed and food and add them to the approved list which includes the following: (Manufactured animal feed/ feed additions/ nutritional supplements/ pet animal food/ food for animals not included in the food chain/ foods and nutritional supplements for honeybees/ processed aquatic food/ unprocessed aquatic food) for allowing import in accordance with the conditions in force in this regard

Service Process

1. 1. Fill out the electronic form 2. E- Payment, in case submitting an application for approval (manufactured animal feed, feed additives or nutritional supplements) only
2. 3. Review the application and complete the procedures electronically 4. Approval in the list of materials allowed to be imported by the country

Required Documents

1. Requirements for processed animal feed, feed additives and nutritional supplements 1. Valid agency / agreement between the manufacturer and the local UAE
2. 2. Valid GMP or equivalent Certificate issue from the competent authorities in the country of origin.
3. 3. Free sale Certificate or equivalent issue from the competent authorities in the country of origin
4. 4. A copy of label of the product issued by manufacturer meet all of the following data:
5. - The trade name of the product. - Ingredients and quantities of the product. - Target animal SPP. - Name and address of the manufacturer. - Storage conditions.
6. - Indication. - Contraindications, warnings and precautions (if any). - Batch number, production date and expiry date. - Veterinary use only or for animal use only
7. - In the case of feed mention” manufactured animal feed”, in the case of feed additives mention (feed additives) & In the case of feed supplement, mention (animal nutritional supplements).
8. - Weight or net size.
9. 5. Certificate of analysis of the product from the manufacturer.
10. 6. Certificate from the manufacturer that the product is free from pork derivatives , any other harmful substances & the product is safe for animals and the environment
11. 7. Certificate from the manufacturer regarding adherence to the maximum limits of mycotoxins in the product according to UAE.S GSO 841:1997 Standard
12. 8. If the veterinary product contains a source of animal protein, a certificate issued by the competent authority in the country of origin must be submitted as follow:
13. - The type of animal, the part used and its source. - Animal products used in the manufacture of the product are taken from animals examined before and after slaughter.
14. -The product comes from a country / region free of avian flu if the product contains poultry meat and their products
15. or treated the product by heat at 70 ° C for at least 30 minutes or the equivalent.
16. The product comes from a country free from BSE or is classified with a controlled risk neglect able / for mad cow disease -
17. if the product contains beef (provided that the feed is not used in ruminants feed)
18. - Animal feed must be not containing meat, bone meal, and other animal derivatives derived from ruminants except milk and its replacer.
19. 9. In the case that the veterinary product contains (substances containing or produced by genetically modified organisms); must be mention in the label: (genetically modified)
20. under the ingredients in the same line size, but in a different color according to UAE.S/GSO 2142:2011 Standard
21. 10. Certificate of product analysis from an accredited laboratory in the United Arab Emirates, if the product targets horses
22. Requirements for Processed aquatic food 1. Free sale Certificate or equivalent issue from the competent authorities in the country of origin
23. 2. A copy of label of the product issued by manufacturer meet all of the following data.
24. - The trade name of the product. - Ingredients and quantities of the product. - Target animal SPP. - Name and address of the manufacturer. - Storage conditions. - Indication.
25. - Contraindications, warnings and precautions (if any). - Batch number, production date and expiry date. - Veterinary use only or for animal use only
26. - In the case of fish feed mention” manufactured fish feed”. - Weight or net size.

40. Requirements for Pet animals’ feed ( CATS, DOGS) 1. Free sale Certificate or equivalent issue from the competent authorities in the country of origin

42. - Ingredients and quantities of the product. - Target animal SPP. - Name and address of the manufacturer. - Storage conditions. - Indication.
43. - Contraindications, warnings and precautions (if any). - Batch number, production date and expiry date. - Veterinary use only or for animal use only
44. - In the case of pet feed mention” pet food only”. - Weight or net size.
45. 3. Certificate of analysis of the product from the manufacturer.
46. 4. If the veterinary product contains a source of animal protein, a certificate issued by the competent authority in the country of origin must be submitted as follow:
47. - The type of animal, the part used and its source. - Animal products used in the manufacture of the product are taken from animals examined before and after slaughter.

53. Requirements for accredited animals feed not included in the food chain Veterinary health certificate stating the following:
54. - The animals are imported from establishments registered with the competent authority and under government veterinary supervision.
55. - The products are from animals that were not killed as part of the eradication program of epidemic and infectious diseases.
56. - The animals were examined the source of the products and were free from any symptoms of epidemic or infectious diseases
57. - The product must be intended for animal consumption. - The type of animal, the part used and its source.
58. - In the event that the product contains protein of poultry origin, that the product is imported from a country / region free of bird flu,
59. or the product has been heat treated at a temperature of 70 ° C for at least 30 minutes or its equivalent.
60. - In the event that the product contains protein of cow origin, the product is imported from a country in which BSE has not been registered,
61. or it is classified with controlled risks or with neglected risks in relation to BSE.
62. Requirements for honeybee feed and nutritional supplements 1. A valid free sale certificate issued by the competent authority in the country of origin
63. 2. A certificate from the producing or exporting company stating that the substance does not include any genetically modified substances
64. and that no material produced from genetically modified organisms has been used during the production process
65. 3. A certificate from the producing or exporting company stating that the product is safe from impact on human, animal, plant and environment
66. 4. Technical Bulletin showing the composition, specifications and uses of the material
67. 5. A copy of the original product packaging label in the country of origin in English and an Arabic translation
68. 6. A letter of authorization from the producing and exporting company not to object to the circulation of the product in the State
