The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has launched a national strategy for environmental awareness and Education 2015-2021, with the aim of raising awareness among new generations to take more responsible behavior towards natural resources.
The UAE maintains and protects terrestrial and marine biodiversity, creating 44 nature reserves, with 16 marine protected areas and 28 land protected areas.
The state is working on a project to update the Red List of endangered species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles in cooperation with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the competent local authorities.
