ADM organizes anti-graffiti campaign in Shahama, Samha, Bahya and Al Falah to remove eyesores

THE Abu Dhabi City Municipality called on all community members to join hands with the Municipality and its strategic partners in combating the graffiti phenomenon distorting the walls of public and private buildings. The move comes as part of the Municipality’s strategy aimed at protecting the urban appearance of the city.A campaign to this effect was launched by the Municipality in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Distribution Company and volunteers to crack down on the graffiti phenomenon marring walls of buildings, public facilities, schools, public offices and private homes in Old/New Shahama, Samha, Rahba, Bahia and Al Falah.

This campaign constitutes part of a master plan aimed at ridding our cities and streets from all forms of negative practices distorting the civilized public appearance, besides instilling the values of collaboration and cooperation between the community and the Municipality to achieve the common objectives of nurturing a healthy and civilized environment.The Municipality has launched the campaign in coordination with its strategic partners to achieve the set objectives and promote the social responsibility. Therefore, it called upon all community segments as well as educational institutions and service providers to support the initiative. Before launching the campaign, the Municipality conducted a survey spanning all districts and places affected by these distorting elements. The targeted areas have been divided into districts, and inspection & follow-up teams have been set up, while preparations were made for the launch of the campaign for redressing and cleaning up distorted areas. This campaign resulted in removing a great deal of graffiti from the walls of homes, and service facilities among others. The Municipality and its partners have provided the required paints and preventive measures to safeguard the health of volunteers.The anti-graffiti campaign continues throughout the year as per the overall plan targeting all areas in line with the Municipality's commitment towards providing a healthy and visually intact environment and protecting the urban appearance of cities and facilities. The Municipality stresses the importance of concerted efforts by community members to eradicate these practices and put an end to the distortion of public facilities.
