UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced 2017 as the “Year of Giving” in the UAE. The action plan this year will focus on three major pillars; first, encouraging corporate social responsibility in the private sector to fulfill its role in serving the country and contribute to its development, second, instilling the spirit of volunteering through specialized volunteering programs across all segments of society to enable them to provide genuine services to the UAE society and to utilize their capabilities in all fields. The Third pillar is planting the concept of serving the nation in the new generations, as one of the most important qualities among Emiratis, so that “serve the country” will become a synonym for “love the country” which has been engraved in the hearts of Emiratis, as well as the residents, for decades.
