Environment Ministry Under-Secretary inaugurates annual 'My Environment, My Responsibility' exhibition
Abdel Rahim Al Hammadi, Under-Secretary for the Ministry of Environment and Water, today inaugurated the 7th edition of the annual ‘My Environment, My Responsibility’ exhibition at Children’s City, Al Khor Park, in Dubai.
Being held in collaboration with Dubai Municipality under the theme, ‘Sustainability’, the exhibition, running until November 19th, drew high-ranking representatives from various municipalities and environmental agencies on its opening day.
Al Hammadi said the event falls within the Ministry of Environment and Water’s initiatives to cultivate a better environmental mindset among community members, especially students, and raise their awareness about their responsibility in ensuring sustainable development and a clean environment. This reflects the Ministry’s goal of ‘Ensuring a Sustainable Environment for Life.’ This year’s edition highlights the areas of waste recycling and the rationalisation of water and electricity consumption. Paying special attention to students from Grade 6 to Grade 9, the event features several educational and awareness programmes targeting young learners and other participants. The activities include lectures, workshops, brainstorming sessions for students, environmental films, innovative projects, and visits to the recently opened Department of Earth Sciences at Children's City.
